Meet Nicole
Hello, Taükin, Pialli, Hola
I’m Nicole, a Traditional Partera/Midwife, Sobadora and Mother
Originally from South America, I speak Spanish. I have walked multiple devotional paths in my birth career including full spectrum doula, childbirth educator, pre/post-natal yoga instructor and now as a Traditional Midwife. I’ve been practicing for the last 10 years, supporting hundreds of births in all the different possibilities, home, hospital, medicated, unmedicated, surgery, life and death; I hold this deep knowing and trust in the ceremony of birth. Honoring physiological birth.
I have had the privilege of being taught by many revered elders from around the globe. I have been trained by Traditional Midwives from Ghana, Hawaii and New Zealand; and through travel Parteras(midwives) in Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia and the US (primarily Texas). I’ve also attended The National College of Midwifery and got through the PEP process through NARM (North American Registry of Midwives). Traditional midwifery allows for full autonomy and honors family choice, including options that may fall outside of licensed practice. Traditional midwives are highly trained and skilled in many aspects of birth, including recognizing and responding to emergencies. Our training is grounded in knowledge passed down through lineage, community, and lived experience, as well as through formal schooling and continued study.
My passion for birth is rooted in the wisdom and the power each woman carries within her. I believe birth is not a medical event to be controlled, but instead a sacred transition to be respected. Utilizing modern and traditional medicine to hold space for families to experience birth with trust, strength and body sovereignty where your voice is central. It’s about carrying forward the truth that birth has always belonged to the mother, her child, and the village that holds her.
